DIRECTV Tunes in to Expanded AT&T Contract
AT&T announced today that it has expanded its decade-long relationship with DIRECTV, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of digital multichannel television service, with a new three-year networking contract valued at more than $69 million.
The agreement ensures that DIRECTV is better able to control costs while gaining the flexibility it needs to continue to support its customer service operations and its entire enterprise. The agreement will provide DIRECTV with the ability to roll out new Internet Protocol (IP)-based technologies, like Voice Over IP (VoIP), in its call center support networks and enterprise networks. DIRECTV provides digital multichannel television service to more than 13.9 million customers nationwide.
